John Henry Richardson

Funeral services for John Henry Richardson, 78 of Thomasville will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. David Pickering will officiate and a private interment will be held in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be, Austin Odom, Larry McDuffie, Jason Groves, Jordan Odom, Gage Odom and Lee Childs.  Mr. Richardson passed away February 21, 2021 at Archbold Hospital. Born February 20, 1943 in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Roy E. Richardson and Maebell Sharber Richardson. On September 16, 1966 he married Patricia Ann Croley Richardson, who survives. He was veteran of The U.S. Navy from 1961 until 1966 serving on the U.S.S. Yorktown.  He was retired from Thomasville Home Furnishings, where he enjoyed his job and loved his work family and he was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He is survived by his children, Buddy Odom and wife Missy of Barwick, Tony Odom and wife Sherry of Thomasville and Melissa Wilder and husband Littleton, Jr of Cairo; grandchildren, Ansley Murphy (Larry McDuffie), Austin (Leah) Odom, Lee Childs, Jessica (Jason) Groves, Crista (Trey) Hitson, Jordan Odom (Dani Strait), Gage Odom (Hannah Smith); great-grandchildren, Carter McDuffie, Jerrett Odom, Hayden Odom, Josie Odom, Hunter Groves,  Lynzi Groves, Braylee Groves, Willow Hitson, Cain Childs & Colton Childs.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Deleros Griffin and brother, Roy Richardson. He will be missed most by the ones that knew him as husband, daddy, papa and big papa. The family will receive friends 5-7pm, Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
