John Preston Spruiell Sr

Graveside services for John Preston Spruiell, Sr., 74, of Thomasville will be 11:00AM, Friday, February 23, 2018 at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Spruiell passed away on February 18, 2018 at his home in Donalsonville, Georgia. Born October 10, 1943, in Boston, he was the son of the late Clara L. Roberds Spruiell and John Q. Spruiell. Mr. Spruiell was a simple man, who valued his family and friends, loved Thomasville and spending time with his family and friends. His heart was generous, as he was always willing to lend a helping hand. He thoroughly enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, as well as, toiling the fields, getting his hands dirty and hosting barbeques for his family and friends. He retired as a farmer from Sunny Hill Plantation. Survivors include, daughters, Tina Spruiell-DiProfio of Goldsboro, North Carolina and Melissa A. Spruiell of Orange Park, Florida; son, John P. Spruiell, Jr. of Wacissa, Florida; grandsons, Michael J. Flowers, Cameron A. DiProfio, Jos’eph L. McKire, Austin, L. McKire, and Carolus D. McKire, Jr.; and sister, Dorothy M. Spruiell-Powell of Macon, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Curtis T. Spruiell and Joseph E. Spruiell.
