Services for John L. Bud King, Jr. of Thomasville are 11:00AM on Friday, February 28, 2003 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. Rev. Dr. Milton C. Gardner, Rev. Robert Young and Rev. Kenneth Burgess will officiate and interment is in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jimmy Searcy, Jr., Henry Williams, Jimmy Clanton, Harold Knight, Billy Brown and Andy Brown. Honorary pallbearers are Grady Bonner, Claude McLendon, Don Haskins, David Brown, Ronnie Herring, Melton Covington, Wiley Pack and Pete Sherrod. Mr. King died Feb. 25, 2003 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born October 21, 1929 in Atlanta, GA., he was the son of the late John Lee King, Sr. and Velma Simpson King Alligood. On February 26, 1955 in Thomasville he married Lillian W. King who survives. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and was owner of Kings Automotive and Wrecker Service. Other survivors include daughter & son-in-law, Sharon Lee King Thweatt and Gregory P. Thweatt, sons & daughters-in-law, John R. King and DeAnn B. King all of Thomasville, Johnny Nelson King and Sheila B. King of Coolidge, James Larry King and Jamie H. King of Thomasville; grandchildren, Lee A. King and Mandy King, Sterlin King, Jennifer Lester and Chuck Lester, Wesley King, Matt Burgess, Cole Burgess, John ''Billy'' King, Anna Burgess and Jessica King; great grandson, Lee Austin King, Jr.; brother-in-law, Bradford P. Alligood and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Walter & Sandra Waldrep; sister-in-law, Mary Jean Alligood; nephew, Tracy Alligood and niece, Kimberly Waldrep. He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen King Alligood and brothers, Hubert Alligood and E.L. Alligood. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7-9PM at the funeral home.
