A service to celebrate the life of Johnnie Ray Johnson, Sr. will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Thomasville with a visitation at 2 p.m. prior to the service. Reverend Randy Blow will be officiating.
Johnnie Johnson, 78, of Ochlocknee passed away on December 7, 2024. He was born on November 7, 1946, in Thomasville to the late Leonard and Berleen Johnson. Johnnie was a member of First Baptist Church in Thomasville and was a man of great faith. He also served in the U.S. Army and was a proud Vietnam veteran. In his free time, he loved fishing, wood-turning, and going to eat with his friends. Those who love him know him as a true friend and a loving husband, father, and Grampy.
Survivors include his wife Vicky Van Landingham Johnson and children Ray Johnson (Carol) of Hiawassee, Cindy Clark (Michael) of Ochlocknee, Ginny Pike (Bryan) of Flowery Branch, and Gerriann Kennedy (David) of Thomasville. He is also survived by his grandchildren Elizabeth, Ashleigh, and Anna Kathryn Johnson; Amelia, Collin, and Jacob Clark; Hayden and Bryson Pike; and Abby Kennedy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Kathron Baker, brother Leonard Johnson Jr., and his grandson Taylor Pike.
