Johnny Nelson King

Johnny Nelson King, 66, of Thomasville, passed away on Thursday September 17, 2020 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on January 2, 1954 in Barwick, GA to Bud and Lillian King. After many years as an auto mechanic and tow truck driver, he most recently worked with Jones Septic Tanks. Johnny loved the outdoors and spent his spare time hunting and time on the water fishing or just enjoying his boat. He loved his children and grandchildren and watching them grow. He was preceded in death by his father, Bud King.
Johnny is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sheila Carroll Burgess King, three sons Lee King (Mandy) of Boston, GA; Matt Burgess (Ashley) of Coolidge, GA; Cole Burgess (Leigh Ann) of Valdosta, GA; daughter Anna Burgess Amiss (David) of Youngsville, NC. Also surviving are his 10 grandchildren, Austin and Tyler King of Boston, Hunter and Lainey Burgess of Coolidge, Mason Burgess of Valdosta, Luke, Abigail, Judson and Elliott Amiss, Katelynn Gardner all of Youngsville, NC. Other survivors include his mother, Lillian King of Murphy, NC, brothers Larry King (Jamie) and John Robert King (DeAnn), sister Sharon Thweatt (Greg) all of Thomasville, and many special nieces and nephews.
