Johnny L. Reichert

Funeral services for Johnny L. Reichert, 69 of Thomasville will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 19, 2015 at First Baptist Church Sanctuary. Rev. Marty Carnes will officiate and interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Born March 20, 1945 in Thomas County, he was the son of the late Louise Clark Reichert and Lawrence L. Reichert. Johnny attended Thomas County Schools and graduated from Central High School. He served on the Thomas County School Board for 8 years and was chairman of the board for 4 years. Johnny was the original chief building inspector for Thomas County and held the position for 30 years. He made many friendships as he aided many Thomas County residences. His favorite time was spent with his family fishing. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher for third graders. Johnny is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Nancy M. Reichert; daughter, Lisa R. Hughes; sister, Marie R. Walker; grandchildren, Allison Griswold and husband Dallas, Jenna Griner, Lori McLean and husband Cody; great-grandchildren, Jaylee Griswold and Braelen Griner; sister-in-law, Pam Greco and husband Bud and numerous nieces and nephews. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1201, Albany, Ga 31702. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm, Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the funeral home.
