Funeral services for Jonathan Andrew Smith, 22, of Meigs will be at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Grace Harvey and Rev. Ronald Leggett will officiate and internment will be in Meigs Sunset Cemetery. Pallbearers are Varnell Harvey, Alton Bryant, Jerome Roberts, William Smith, Delane Smith and Josh Smith. Mr. Smith died on June 20 in Grady Co. He was born in Birmingham, AL on June 20, 1986. Survivors include his adoptive parents James & Louise Cooper of Meigs; his parents Tammy and Eddie Rains; 5 brothers Charles H. Gilbreath, Jr. of Fort Benning, GA, Gary Lynn Gilbreath of Missouri, Billy Joe Gilbreath of Meigs, Joshua Allen Smith of Fort Drum NY, and Jesse Edward Rains of Albertville, AL; 2 sisters, Tina Louise Smith of Alpharetta, GA and Brittney Nicole Smith of Albertville, AL.; 2 step brothers, James Cooper Jr. and John Cooper; 3 step sisters, Michelle Cooper, Marie Cooper, and Amanda Sadler. Also surviving is a great grandmother, Gladys Smith of Moultrie; great uncles and aunts, Theron & Wynette Willis of Thomasville, William and Darlene Smith of Leesburg, GA, Delane & Gina Smith of Pavo, GA, and JR. and Liz Smith of Jefferson, GA; a great uncle, Jerome Roberts of Thomasville, GA.; 3 uncles, Gary Smith, Michael Smith and Chris Smith, all of Albertville, AL; nieces Bella Smith, Mackenzie Gilbreath and Karli Gilbreath; and nephews Nathan Smith and Cross Gilbreath. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Mac & Judy Smith and a brother Jeffrey Rains. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 on Monday at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel.
