Mr. Carroll died November 9, 2005 at his residence. Born December 27, 1924 in Mitchell Co., GA he was the son of the late William Jesse Carroll, Sr. and Naomi Harrell Carroll. He was a carpenter and of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Carroll was a member of the American Legion and was a decorated World War II veteran in the United States Army. Survivors include a son, Joe R. Carroll of Thomasville, daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra C. and Morris Dukes of Statenville, GA., Lynne and Simbo Dixon, Catherine C. and Travis Williams all of Thomasville; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; sisters, Rebecca Carroll Hinds of Martin, GA, Mabel Carroll Simpson of Birmingham, AL. He was preceded in death by brothers, James Gordon Carroll, Sr. and William Jesse Carroll, Jr. Memorials may be made to Thomasville-Thomas County Humane Society, 180 Big Star Dr., Thomasville, GA 31757 or to the Lake Park Humane Society.
