Joseph William Alan Dekle passed away unexpectedly on December 5, 2024, at the age of 34. Joseph was born on December 31, 1989, in Thomasville, Georgia, to Steve and Tracey Dekle.
Joseph was a shift leader at Jonah's restaurant. He was a member of Thomasville First Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as well as coworkers. Joseph was an avid sports enthusiast, often cheering for his favorite teams-the San Francisco 49ers, Georgia Bulldogs, and the Syrupmakers. He was a member of the 2008 state championship football team. Joseph also took on the responsibility of caring for his father during a time of illness.
Joseph is survived by his loving mother, Tracey Dekle of Cairo, his sister, Chelsea Dekle, of Cairo, and his grandmother, Vivian Etherson, of Woonsocket, Rhode Island. He is also remembered fondly by his aunts, Melanie Berry of Pensacola, Jill Andoff (Scott) of Jacksonville, Donna Mosher of Cupertino, California, and Janet Dekle Wynne (David) of Cairo, in addition to many great-aunts, great-uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Steve Dekle, as well as his grandparents Mack Howard Dekle, Carolyn Singletary Dekle, and Sarah Dell Dekle.
A service will be held Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church in Thomasville with Reverend Paul Ballard officiating.
