Joseph (Joe) William Monteith

Joseph William Monteith, 90, of Thomasville passed away on Tuesday September 15, 2020 at his residence. Born in Starke, Florida he was the son of the late David and Kathleen Monteith. Joe attended the University of Florida and loved the Gators. He was a Manager at Davis Industries before his retirement. Joe was happiest while doing wood work and was a Craftsman wood worker. He was also a gifted photographer, especially of old houses, barns, and beautiful scenery. Joe was married to Lois McRee Monteith, who survives, in September of 1953 and would have celebrated their 67th anniversary later this year. Other survivors include his son Ralph Monteith and his wife Lisa; nephews Josh (Angelia), Steve Rhodes, and niece Kathleen; grandchildren Brain (Layota), Matthew (Sara), Michael (Ashley), and Holly (Brad); great grandchildren Orin, Iala, Luke, Levi, Walker, Emerson and Sevanna. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son David Monteith, brother Ralph Rhodes and sister Margret McGriff. His family will hold a private graveside service officiated by Dr. Jimmy Clanton and ask that donations be made to your favorite charity or to the Giddens.
