Obituary

Joseph (Joe) Francis Majorie of Thomasville GA, formerly of Point Pleasant NJ and Cape Coral/Ft Myers FL, died peacefully after a short time on hospice care. Joe is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Sonja (Sonny) Majorie (ne: Swensen), his son Frank Majorie and his family of Dallas, TX, His Daughter Luanne Falkinburg and her son John of Hahira, GA, His son Joe and his wife Dawn of Havre de Grace, MD and their daughter Allison Nelson and grandson Aidan Nelson of Toms River, NJ, and his sisters Barbara Lampert of Round Rock, TX and Laura Lucas of Bricktown, NJ along with many nieces and nephews. Joe was a devout Catholic and found comfort and peace in his faith through daily prayers of the Rosary. Joe was a graduate of St. Peters Elementary School in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ and Saint Rose High School in Belmar, NJ. Joe believed in service to his church and professional community and shared his talents and time enthusiastically. Joe passionately served as a Eucharistic Minister, providing Communion Sacrament, with compassion, to those who could not attend mass in person. He was involved with the Rotary Club and Lions Club of Point Pleasant, NJ, and Knights of Columbus in Cape Coral, FL. Joe was also a past Associate Vice President of New Jersey Shore Builders Association and the New Jersey State Builders Association. Joe also served a brief time with the Coast Guard Reserves. Joe owned and operated Kitchens by Majorie with his wife and son in Point Pleasant Beach and Middletown NJ for many years and was well known in the area as the “Kitchen Guy”. Joe was passionate about boating and fishing and loved to be on the water in New Jersey and Florida, after retirement. He was known to bring a few fishing poles on vacation. He also enjoyed playing golf and going on cruises with Sonny, and sharing cocktails and fun with friends, who would soon become like family. His gregarious personality endeared the little guy with a big heart to all that knew him. Joe particularly loved his family. Over the years, when family spread out to all parts of the country, Joe always cared about them, and prayed daily for their health, well-being, and joy. The family would like to extend thanks to the Administration, Care team and Hospice team of Archbold Living in Thomasville Georgia who made Joe’s transition into God’s Kingdom comfortable and peaceful.

No services will be scheduled and internment will be private. The family asks all who can to consider donating the The Smile Train in Joe’s memory. support.smiletrain.org
