Services for Joy Darlene Sangster Thompson, 71 of Thomasville will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Barnett’s Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Paul Blough will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Brown, Jr., Wes Reneau, Russ Singletary, Chris White, Chris Reneau and Dan Stewart. Mrs. Thompson passed away April 9, 2015 at Archbold Hospital. Born July 1, 1943 in Thomasville she was the daughter of the late William Sangster and Frances Stewart Sangster. On March 6, 1964 in Thomasville she married Hollis L. Thompson, Sr., who survives. She retired from the City of Thomasville Utilities Department after 30 years of service and was a member of Barnett’s Creek Baptist Church. She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Sister who loved spending her time with her family. Other survivors include her children, Melissa Mills and husband Bobby of Ochlocknee, Rudy Thompson and wife Hope of Thomasville and Stacey Stuckey and husband Shane of Ochlocknee; grandchildren, Matt Cogland, Marc Cogland, Tyler Thompson, Jordan Thompson, Holli & Jonathan Rossi and Maddison Godwin, sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Jack Willis and brother and sister-in-law, James Frank and Phyllis Sangster all of Thomasville and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Willie Albert (Sammy) Sangster, Jr. and sister and brother-in-law, June and Johnny Pritchard. The family will receive friends 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM before the service.
