Juanita Marie Mills Scites (89 years old) went to be with our Lord on May 6, 2017.
She was born December 21, 1927 in Huntington, WV to Kenny and Georgia Mills. She was married to Kenneth Boyd Scites on November 11, 1945 in Branchland, WV. They had two sons, Kenneth Allan Scites and Kevin Michael Scites and one daughter Karen Lynne Scites. Juanita raised her family in Dunbar, WV, where she worked for The Diamond Department Store in Charleston, WV and later for The Kroger Company in Kanawha City, WV, retiring in 1980 as the Manager of the Kroger Employee's (KEMBA) Credit Union. Leaving the "city life behind", they moved to Thomasville, GA. to enjoy living the "country life". Juanita and Kenneth were active members of The Little Ochlocknee Baptist Church, where Kenneth served as a Deacon and Juanita organized and volunteered for many projects and committees from Jolly Elders, Helping Hands, teaching Sunday School to singing in the choir, just to name a few. She loved her church family! Over the years, she volunteered at the Food Bank and with the Archbold Hospital in Thomasville, GA. Juanita was a very outgoing person and treasured the many strangers who crossed her path and became long-time friends, her heart and love had no boundaries. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Boyd Scites, two brothers; Raymond Mills and Golden Mills and great granddaughter Bracey Lynn Stover. She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Allan) Scites of Ochlocknee, GA, Kevin Scites and wife Wendy of Ochlocknee, GA and Karen Scites of Lakeland, FL; six Grandchildren, Mark Stover, Matt Stover, Jerry Stover, Jason Scites and wife Melony, Ashely Scites and Heather Scites Highsmith and husband Steven; great-grandchildren, Kaleb Stover, Destiny Stover, Kaitlyn Scites and Logan Scites. A Memorial service, officiated by Reverend Gene Brock, will be held Friday, May 12th at the Little Ochlocknee Baptist Church, 8080 GA Hwy 188 Ochlocknee, GA at 4:00pm.
