Judith Marsha Hamilton Conradi

April 21, 1940 — December 12, 2010

Judith Marsha Hamilton Conradi died in Canton, Georgia on Sunday, December 12, 2010. Born April 21, 1940, at Emory Hospital then Emory, GA, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Gardner Hamilton and the late Sarah Black Hamilton of Atlanta and niece to the late Robert Gordon Hamilton, her Legal Guardian from early childhood. Having been of Baptist faith in all her years, after moving to Thomasville in the 1960's, she became a caring member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church and served as Co-Youth Director for EYC, church Hospitality Chairman and taught Sunday School. In addition to being a loving mother and grandmother, she was also active in the community as a member of the Thomasville Junior Service League, Jerger School PTA president and supporter, fund-raising and organizing sidewalk art shows for the Thomasville Arts Guild. She served as an originating member of the Thomasville Tourism Authority. She was involved in the organization and production of the Children's Rosebud Parade, serving as Chairman, and was responsible for moving the parade to the streets of Downtown Thomasville under the sponsorship of McDonald's and the Chamber of Commerce; she was instrumental in working with the City and Chamber to gain their co-sponsorship of the parade. Her most loved category in the parade was "I Came As Me", so that every child, costumed or not, could participate. As a member of the Kiwanis Club of Thomasville and a representative of McDonald's, she gave many hours of organization and participation to the Terrific Kid's Club in all participating schools. She organized and participated in many activities involving the children of the community. An exciting personal accomplishment for community benefit was succeeding in bringing Billy Payne, President of Atlanta Organization Committee for the 1996 Olympics, as a speaker for the Thomasville Economic Forum in 1990, just after Atlanta received the Olympic bid. She was a member of the past local AIDS education group, writing and producing the newsletter. She was a devoted employee of Archbold Medical Center for many years and at the time of her death. Marsha is survived by her daughter Jamey Conradi Hamm; granddaughters Sarah Rebecca Banks and Karley Page Hamm, Canton, GA; sister Lynda H. Coffey, nieces Lizabeth Grace Coffey, Lynda Paige Coffey-Rice and nephew, James E. Buck Coffey, Jr., all of the Marietta and Atlanta area. At her request no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, a suggested memorial would be to Thomasville Animal Hospital or vet of your choice for free work given to God's animals in need.
