Graveside services for Mrs. Julia Claris Jackson Benton, age 88, of Miramar Beach, FL are at 10:00AM on Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at Ochlocknee City Cemetery. The Rev. Gerald Horne will officiate. Mrs. Benton died September 17 at the home of her daughter in Lincolnton. Born August 24, 1918 in Thomas Co., GA she was the daughter of the late W. J. and Mollie Holland Jackson, Sr. She was retired from the Thomas County School System where she was employed as a bus driver and cafeteria worker. Mrs. Benton was a long time member of Forest Hill Church of God in Thomasville, GA and was a member of Spirit Life Praise and Worship Center in Lincolnton. Survivors include one son, Thomas Jeff Benton of Miramar Beach, FL; two daughters, Patsy B. Moore, Marjorie B. Brewer of Lincolnton; three sisters, Myrtis Prince of Albany, GA, Pearlis Montjoy of Macon, GA, Eunice Coffey of Ashville, NC; eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
