Services for Julian Quin Butler, Sr. of Metcalfe, are at 11:00AM on Monday, June 14, 2004 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Teagle Greer and the Rev, Don Prevatt will officiate and interment is in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are Rick Butler, Martin Smith, Leon Butler, Jr., Russ Butler, Randall Butler and Bubba Taylor. Honorary pallbearers are Clyde Kindred, Charles Reese, David Collins, Reggie Roddenberry and Johnny Harvell. Mr. Butler died June 11, 2004 at his residence. Born November 1, 1929 in Cairo, he was the son of the late Calvin Quin Butler, Sr. and Eva Judson Rehberg Butler. On July 19, 1952 in Thomasville he married Wanda Jean Simpson Butler who survives. Mr. Butler was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Metcalfe and was a retired serviceman from Orkin Pest Control. Other survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Julian Quin Sonny, Jr. and Theresa Butler, son, Claude Martin Marty Butler, beloved grandson, Kevin Butler all of Metcalfe, brothers and sisters, Frances Thomas of Ogden, UT, Marion Parrish, Albany, GA, Gwen Butler Lamar of Cairo, GA, Norris C. Butler Laverne of Ochlocknee, GA, Judson A. Butler Carolyn of Metcalfe, GA, Leon O. Butler of Cairo, GA, Claude R. Butler Pat of Quitman, GA, Calvin Q. Butler, Jr.Butch of Metcalfe, GA, brother-in-law and wife, Bobby and Judy Simpson of Thomasville, sister-in-law, Mary Ann Simpson of Summerville, SC. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southwest Georgia, 818 Gordon Ave., Thomasville, GA 31792. The family will receive friends at the 4-6PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
