Services for Jynell Champion Melfy, 79 of Boston will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery. Ms. Melfy passed away March 24, 2019 at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home. Born April 23, 1939 in Lakeland, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Rufus Champion and Wynell Dupree Champion. She was preceded in death by husbands, Lee “Buddy” Groves and Rex Melfy. She was an LPN and loved her work and her family. She is survived by her children, Brenda Harrell (Joseph) of Wilmington, Delaware, Linda Meeks (Hal) of Boston and Curtis Lee Groves (Victoria) of Boston; Grandchildren,Joseph Benjamin Harrell (Jackie), Jynell Harrell, Justin Meeks, Haley Blalock (Jason) and Dylan Lee Groves (Ashley); great-grandchildren, Georgiana Bass, Brody Blalock, Maisie Meeks, Kinlee Blalock, Preslee Blalock and brother, William R. Champion (Delores) of Sebring, Florida. She was also preceded in death by brother, Robert A. Champion. The family will receive friends 1-2pm, before the service at the funeral home.
