Katheryn Louise Taylor Mcleod

January 25, 1952 — June 2, 2024

Katheryn Louise Taylor McLeod, 72, peacefully entered her eternal life on June 2 in her home in Thomasville, Georgia. Her faith, her family, and her friends made her final months a beautiful testament to a life well-lived.

Born in Jacksonville, Florida on January 25, 1952, Kathy graduated from Forrest High School in 1970. Shortly after, in August 1970, she married her high-school sweetheart and husband of nearly 54 years, Stann McLeod, and within months they began their journey together traveling the world following his 30-year career in the United States Air Force.

Kathy was a homemaker, regardless of where "home" was. Whether it was stateside, Thailand, or Spain, she created a warm, loving, welcoming safe haven for her family to grow and thrive. As a military wife, she filled whatever needs asked of her, and did so with heart and grace, and attention to every detail. Kathy was a Godly woman with a gift for hospitality, treating friends and family to her delicious meals. She had an adventurous spirit, a mischievous sense of humor, and loved family fellowship, reading, and spending time in her immaculate gardens. In all aspects of her life, she was a planter of seeds and a model of how to nurture them into something beautiful. This was especially true of her walk with God. Her strong faith sustained her throughout life, sharing the blessings of God's infinite grace with others. When she and Stann retired to Thomasville in 2002, she was welcomed by her community and formed many special friendships in her neighbors, through her church, Thomasville First Baptist, and with her WWCC (Who Want Coffee Club) girls. Her family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Stann McLeod, her two daughters, Mindy Fulton (Chris) and Lesli McMillan (Kevin), and her grandchildren Tyler Fulton, Emily, Christian, Kingsley, Tristan, Madison, and Fox McMillan, her siblings Agnes Mitchell (JW), Judy Jones (Steve), and Dewayne Taylor (Judy), her sisters-in-law Sonia, Katherine, and Debbie Taylor, and her mother-in-law Gwen McLeod.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Leslie Lee Dean Taylor and Alston Reginald Taylor, her father-in-law James Otha McLeod, her mother-in-law Lelia Albertina Borkenhagen McLeod, and her siblings Reginald, Joe, Jimmy, and Lee Taylor.

Kathy's celebration of life will be held on Thursday, June 6, at 2:00 pm, and the family will host a visitation on Wednesday, June 5th from 5:00-7:00, both in the Allen and Allen Funeral Celebration of Life Chapel, Thomasville, Georgia. Reverend Paul Ballard will officiate and interment will be at Tallahassee National Cemetery.
