Graveside services for Kathryn Woodham Rivers Bozeman, 91, of Pavo will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2016, at 2 p.m., at Lebanon Cemetery, Pavo, Georgia. The Rev. James Davis and the Rev. David Cook will officiate. Mrs. Bozeman was received into the loving arms of her Savior on Thursday, March 10, in Thomasville, Georgia. Born Dec. 12, 1924, in Barwick, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Jesse C. Woodham, Sr. and Johnnie C. Woodham. On Dec. 21, 1947, in Barwick, she was married to Paul William Rivers Sr., who preceded her in death on Sept. 30, 1983. Her brother, Jesse C. Woodham Jr., also preceded her in death. She married Cecil H. Bozeman, of Pavo, on Sept. 5, 1995. A 1940 graduate of Barwick School, Mrs. Bozeman continued her studies at Georgia Southwestern College and Valdosta State College receiving a BS in Elementary Education. A dedicated educator, her 30 year career included teaching in Barney, Barwick, Sandhill, and Pavo with the majority of her teaching being at Pavo Elementary School. Mrs. Bozeman had a passion for education and a love for her students. She was a member of The Pavo United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Pavo Women’s Club, and the Pavo Bridge Club. She loved her Lord and her family, and was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She had a huge desire to nurture and take care of everyone. Mrs. Bozeman was known for her quick wit, something she maintained throughout her illness. She was loved by so many. Mrs. Bozeman is survived by her husband, Cecil; her children, Paul (Pete) William Rivers, Jr (Gail) and Kay Rivers Hathaway (Gill) all of Pavo; grandchildren John W. Herndon (Jessica) of Alpharetta, Georgia, Katie Herndon Pope (Kevin) of Hoschton, Georgia, John Hall of Moultrie, and Cody Hall of Pavo; great grandchild Kaylee Brook Pope; nephew, Jesse C. (Mike) Woodham III; niece and great nephew Marianne Woodham Hancock and Stanford M. Hancock; cousin, Ned A. Simmons of Quitman; and a large extended family and many good friends.
