Services for Kathryn Mary Cooper of Thomasville are at 4:00PM on Sunday, May 4, 2003 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Bob Dixon will officiate. Mrs. Cooper died April 28, 2003 at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Fl. Born August 25, 1918 in Ballston Spa, New York, she was the daughter of the late Richard & Isabelle Clark Happel. On April 13, 1941 in Schenectady, New York she married Sam Cooper who survives. Mrs. Cooper received a master's degree from Hofstra University, Long Island, N.Y. and was a school teacher and assistant principal at Benjamin Franklin Junior High in Ridgewood, New Jersey. She was an accomplished pianist and vocalist and often played piano for Southern Pines residents and Kitchen Band. Other survivors include a son Raymond Cooper of Portland, Maine, daughter, Linda Cooper of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Richard Cooper. The family will receive friends at Allen & Allen Funeral home after the service on Sunday. Visitors may sign the online guest register at www.allenfh.com .
