Kathryn Anna Murphy Chastain

Memorial services for Kathryn Anna Murphy Chastain, 52 of Thomasville will be held at 2:00PM, Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Dawson Street Baptist Church. Rev. Lee Waller will officiate. Ms. Chastain passed away July 29, 2015. Born July 13, 1963 in Thomasville she was the daughter of the late Harry Emile Murphy and Janella Southerland Murphy of Thomasville who survives. Kathryn graduated from Darton College School of Nursing. She was a nurse from 1981 to 2015 spending most of those years at Archbold Hospital. She was a patient advocate and a great nursing mentor. She loved cooking, the beach, fishing, singing, and spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Other survivors include daughters, Meagan Jones of Atlanta, Georgia and Kayla Jones of Thomasville; sisters, Lorry Murphy Day and husband Eric of Thomasville and Andrea Murphy Skaling and husband Darrell of Barney, Georgia; nieces and nephews, Anna Day, Danny Day, Elizabeth Riley Singletary, Shea Singletary and Ian Singletary and beloved dog Gabe. The family will receive friends, 6-8PM, Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
