Memorial services for Keith Isaac Banister of Coolidge will be held at 11:00AM on Monday April 26, 2021 in the Coolidge Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Mike Keown and Rev. Adam Gilligan officiating. Mr. Banister passed away on Friday April 23, 2021 at his residence. Born on June 12, 1944 in Pavo, Ga., he was the son of the late Haywood and Vivian Banister. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam era from 1967-1973 and being discharged as a SP5. He was a lifetime farmer working with Banister Brothers, his family business, where they were successful in growing cotton, corn, pecans, and peanuts. Mr. Banister sat on the Board of Directors for Thomas County Farm Bureau for many years and serving as President for several of those years. He was a member of Coolidge Baptist Church and formerly served on the Coolidge City Council. His hobbies included reading, collecting arrowheads, traveling and he was an avid history buff. His favorite hobby was spending time with his family who he loved dearly. Survivors include his wife Dale Banister; daughters Amy Mitchell and Dawn Smith (Jody); grandchildren Vallie Smith, Reese Smith, Emma Mitchell, Wyatt Keith Mitchell; dearly loved nephew and niece Rooks and Lane Pullen. He was preceded in death by his son Tim Warren; brothers Rodney Banister and Don Banister. His family will greet friends after the service on Monday at Coolidge Baptist Church.
