Funeral services for Kelly Mitchell Stringer, 49 of Thomasville will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Dawson Street Baptist Church. Rev. Lee Waller and Rev. David Cook will officiate and interment will follow at Springhill Methodist Church. Mrs. Stringer won her battle with Osteosarcoma when she went to be with the Lord April 21, 2016 at her Metcalfe residence. Born September 24, 1966 in Quitman, Georgia, she is the daughter of Charles Luke Mitchell, Jr and Tommie Williams Mitchell who survive. Kelly graduated from Valdosta State University with a degree in education and was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She was a bookkeeper for Sampson’s Paint and Decorating and also worked as an admissions assistant for South Regional Technical College, but her proudest accomplishment was raising her four children with her husband Ken, whom she was married to for 25 years. She was a member of Dawson Street Baptist Church where she was active in WMU, taught GA’s and also enjoyed cooking for youth fund raisers. She is also survived by her children, Erin Stringer Mahany and husband Taylor of Atlanta, Jodie Stringer, Riley Stringer, and Tori Stringer all of Thomasville; brother, Bucky Mitchell and wife Donna of Pavo and nieces, Patti Mitchell and Kaitlyn Mitchell. Donations may be made to Dawson Street Baptist Church, 1025 N. Dawson St, Thomasville, GA 31792 or Springhill Methodist Church, 2821 Stringer Rd, Thomasville Ga 31792.
