Services for Mr. Kenneth Harold Herndon, 94, of Thomasville will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, November 2, 2014 at Antioch Baptist Church. The Reverend Matt Stacey, Pastor Jon McLain , and Keith Hayes will officiate and internment will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Herndon passed away October 25, 2014 at Camellia Gardens. Born June 15, 1920, he was the son of Jasper Robert Herndon and Sallie Prosser Herndon. On November 6, 1946, he married Cynthia Virginia Marchant Herndon who preceded him in death. Mr. Herndon retired from the U. S. Navy and the U. S. Civil Service. While in the Navy, he served as a seaman on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt where he received the WWII Victory Medal, the American Defense Medal and several Good Conduct Medals. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He is survived by several nieces and nephews, special friends, Andy Moore and Keith Hayes.
