Kenneth Kyle Anthony Phipps, age 71, passed away on January 22, 2026, in Ochlocknee, Georgia. Kenneth was born on August 3, 1954, in Galax, Virginia, to loving parents Isaac Kyle and Juanita Maxine Phipps. He retired after a distinguished career as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, serving his country for 22 years. His career included assignments in Saudi Arabia and Germany, and he proudly served in the Gulf War. Following his military service, he spent 27 years working in Dialysis and in the biomedical and materials management field at Archbold before retiring from there as well. Kenneth enjoyed playing golf and watching Gunsmoke. An avid gun enthusiast, he was a simple man who enjoyed life and valued good times with family and friends. Kenneth is survived by his beloved wife, Jean Lawhorne Phipps, and children: Katie Sartoris (Vinny) of Galax, Virginia; Michelle Norman of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and Russ Vick (Sam) of Atlanta. He also leaves behind grandchildren Alex Sartoris, Noah Norman, Caitlin Carver, James Vick, Amanda Vick, and Josh Vick, as well as his sister, Nancy (Scatter) Williams of Lillian, Alabama. He is additionally survived by brother-in-law Donnie Lawhorne and sister-in-law Gail Lawhorne, and brother-in-law Kevin Williams, and sister-in-law Janet Williams.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Bobby Vick, and his brothers-in-law Len Cochran and Darrell Williams.
His family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, January 28, 2026 from 4:00-6:00PM at Allen & Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hands On Thomas County at www.handsonthomascounty.org, The Thomasville Humane Society at thomasvillehumane.org, or the charity of your choice.
