Ladie Alice James of Pavo passed away on Wednesday September 22, 2021 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born on April 24, 1958, in Thomasville, she was the daughter of the late T.D. James and Mary L. (Molly) James. She devoted her life to teaching kids and mentoring new teachers. Miss James was an educator for 36 years and taught for 33 years in Adel GA at Cook Middle School. Ms. James enjoyed reading books, music, and spending time with family and friends. She was a long-time member of Pavo Baptist Church where she served as the Music Director for many years along with various other activities within the church. Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law Whit and Barbara O’Neal James; nephew Mike James; nieces Jenni James Faison and husband John, Laura James Giradeau and husband Stacey; great nephews and great nieces: Andrew Girardeau, Jesse James, Jubilee Faison, Avery Girardeau, Judah Faison, Jael Faison, Lucas James, Julianna Faison, and August James; close friend Gwen Waters and the “Bootiful Family” of friends and a host of cousins. In lieu of flowers, her family ask that donations be made in her memory to either Pavo Baptist Church or Lives Without Limits. A Celebration of Life for Ladie James will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Pavo Baptist Church. Her immediate family will attend a private burial at Lebanon Cemetery in Pavo. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Family requests that all guests wear a face mask and adhere to all CDC guidelines.
