Lady "MacBooth," as she was fondly known to hundreds of students, was a Bessie Tift graduate, and taught English Literature and Grammar at Thomasville High School for 30 plus years. During her tenure at THS, she was selected as Teacher of the Year, and had the annual dedicated to her as well. She was a member of NEA, TAE and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma honor society. She was a faithful member of Thomasville First United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for years, helped organize the Thomas County Food Bank, and went on a mission trip to Belize. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women and a life member of the Sue McTier Sunday School Class.

After retirement, she spent 17 years as a volunteer for the Thomas County Central High School tennis teams, where she was affectionately known as "Coach Grannie." Reading and gardening were her hobbies, but always, her true love was her family. Whether she was known as Lady, Mrs. Booth, Lady "MacBooth", Mrs. Garner, Grand Lady, Grannie or just plain Mama, she loved Thomasville, raised two families, touched and influenced hundreds of young people, and was an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be missed, but not forgotten, and in good times or bad, she was always known as a Southern "Lady."
