Larry Lamar Stokes

Memorial service for Larry Lamar Stokes, 76, of Thomasville will be held at 11:00AM, Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Metcalfe Methodist Church. Rev. Dan Barton will officiate with Pastor Marshall Singletary assisting. Mr. Stokes passed away on September 27, 2015 at his residence. Born August 2, 1939 in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Henry Lemmie and Foye Stokes. Mr. Stokes loved fishing and was known for being able to fix anything. He loved his family and being with his children, grandchildren and siblings. He was married to Helen Harvell Stokes, who survives. Other survivors include daughter, Lynn Stokes Larson and husband Greg of Gulf Breeze, Florida; son, Carroll Stokes and wife Sally of Buford, Georgia; grandchildren, Rachael Weber and Samantha Stokes; brothers, Cliff Stokes of Albany, Georgia and Jimmy Stokes of Lavonia, Georgia; sisters, Betty Hicks of Rock Springs, Georgia and Louise Cooper of Thomasville and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Lloyd Stokes and Merl Stokes and sister, Joyce Mott. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM.
