Laura Suzanne Hutchings

June 7, 1974 — April 17, 2018

Laura Suzanne Hutchings passed away peacefully at her home after a lengthy illness. Laura was the daughter of David and Janet Hutchings. She was born in Thomasville 6-7-74 and attended city schools where she was a good student. She was inducted into the Beta Club Honor Society and later into Sub Debs. She was in the color guard with the THS Band and was a member of the Music and Drama Troupe for four years. She also was a member of the high school tennis team. She was an active member of First Baptist Church growing up and was baptized there with her brother in 1985.
She attended West Georgia College in Carrollton, GA. and was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. Laura was a member of the Bravettes at her college. She earned Dean’s list status while there.
After graduation, she went to work for Flowers Foods in Villa Rica in the Human Resources division. She wanted to be in sales and after moving to Atlanta, she drove a truck and delivered bread. She also worked several years for Ford Motor Credit and enjoyed running and speed walking. One year Laura finished among the top 25 walkers in the Rose City walk.
She was proceeded in death by her paternal grandparents, David and Lanny Hutchings and maternal grandparents, Margaret and Milton Hurst. She is survived by her brother, David (Hutty) Hutchings, and her beloved nieces Hannah Grace and Julia Hutchings and nephew Jake Hutchings. Also her wonderful aunts Susan Jobson (Randy) and Beverly Cox (Bill) of Thomasville and Dianne Scoggins (J.R.) of Ellijay. Cousins Kimberly Crowe, Russ Scoggins, Randy and Whitney Jobson, Bucky and Mary Lane Mitchell, Melissa Farrell, Dylan Cox, Karen McCloud, Chris Hurst and Ben Hurst.
Laura possessed a sharp mind and a quick wit and was funny and fun to be with. She was much loved by her family and friends. Laura will be missed and lovingly thought of every day by her parents. That is for certain.
We offer our deep appreciation and regard to Amber Rodd, NP and all the staff at McIntosh Clinic and Hospice of SW Georgia.
