Memorial services for Lawrence Willard Winkelmann will be Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 6:30PM at New Covenant Church corner of hwy 19 and hwy 84. Born May 13, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late Lawrence Fred Winkelmann and Shirley Minnie Winkelmann. Mr. Winkelmann was married to Jacqueline Jean Winkelmann for 60 years, who survives. Mr. Winkelmann served in the U.S. Navy for seven years and as a police officer for 33 years; member of the Fraternal Order of Police, POAM, BPOA, Elks, Eagles, South Oakland County L.E. Association and New Covenant Church. He was also awarded numerous Law Enforcement awards and achievements. He was the president of the BPOA for thirteen years. His interest included golf, woodworking, going to church, traveling, singing, hunting and square dancing. Other survivors include daughter Sheila Kellogg Tim of MI, sons Guy Winkelmann Jessie of Thomasville, GA and Larry Winkelmann Kathy of MI; Grandchildren Chad Kellogg Kelly, Brienna Winkelmann, Aleah Winkelmann, Graddie Hall Ally all of MI, Zachary Winkelmann, Cody Winkelmann, Ely Winkelmann, Gavin Brooks, and Kade Books all of Thomasville; Great-grandchildren Seth, Olivia, Jack, Graddie III, Ellie all of MI.
