Services for Lea B. Harvell of Metcalf will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday May 27, 2015 at Metcalf Methodist Church with Rev. Marshall Singletary, Rev. Molly Danner and Dr. Jimmy Clanton officiating. Interment will be in New Ochlocknee Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Harvell passed away Sunday May17, 2015 at her residence. Born on June 21, 1936 in Van Buren, AR, she was the daughter of the late Lester Beckham and Myrtle Bell Beckham. She was a long time resident of Metcalf where she attended Metcalf Methodist Church and worked with her husband Johnny in their business Harvell Sod Farm. She also worked for many years at Archbold Memorial Hospital in the Medical Records Department. One of her greatest joys was raising and breeding English Bulldogs and operated Lejon Kennels where she breed and sold Bulldog puppies throughout the country. She is survived by her husband of 61 years Johnny Harvell of Metcalf; daughters and sons-in-law Carla and James Bowen, Becky and W.A. Parrish; son and daughter-in-law Corky and Dawn Harvell; grandchildren Jonathon Clay and wife Lindsay, Nicholas Clay and wife Bowen; Christopher Clay and wife Katie, Heather Harvell, and Susannah Harvell; great grandchildren Megan Clay, Brooks Clay, Bo Clay, Rives Clay, Leelen Clay, and Ellie Kate Clay; brother Lester Beckham. She also leaves behind her faithful companions Julie, Scooter, and Benji.
Her family will greet friends at the church following the service on Wednesday.
