Lee Edward Godwin Sr.

Funeral services for Lee Edward Godwin Sr. will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday September 9, 2015 at Dawson Street Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Floyd and Rev. Lee Waller officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Born on September 26, 1924 in Pierce County Georgia he was the son of the late Berry Godwin and Eliza Yawn Godwin. Mr. Godwin was an Army veteran serving in World War II and was the owner of Moultrie Road Auto Salvage before his retirement. He was a long time active member of Dawson Street Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was married to Ollie Lyons Godwin who preceded him in death on May 11, 2014. Survivors include his son Lee Edward Godwin Jr. of Thomasville; daughter Linda Gail Floyd and her husband Bill of Graceville Fl; 4 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; brothers Clyde Godwin and his wife Edna and Clinton Godwin and his wife Margaret all of Blackshear, Ga. Mr. Godwin’s family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to the service.
