Lemiel 'Slim' Thornton

Graveside services for Lemiel (Slim) Thornton, 87 of Lutz, Fl will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, February 21, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Rev. Ken Burgess and Pastor Mack Luke will officiate. Mr. Thornton passed away February 19 at Archbold Hospital. Born November 13, 1926 in Newton, he was the son of the late Ben Thornton and Beatrice Addison Thornton. Mr. Thornton was the head custodian for Lutz Elementary School and was a farmer. He loved to grow a garden and flowers. He attended Trinity Baptist Church with his family. He is survived by his son, Marcus Thornton and wife Patricia of Ochlocknee; daughter, Linda Brown of Cairo; grandchildren, Keith Thornton and wife Misi, Michelle Smith and husband Rex, Roger Brown, Mark Brown and wife Rhonda and Libby Sumner; great-grandchildren, Ansley Thornton, Keyton Smith, Kaleb Smith, Rachelle Brown, Little Mark Brown, Destiny Sumner and Macy Sumner.
