Services for Lena Welch Collins Stewart, of Quitman are at 3:00PM on Thursday, June 26, 2003 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Charles Neely and The Rev. Billy Majors will officiate and interment will be in Big Creek Cemetery. Mrs. Stewart died June 23, 2003 at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman. Born October 14, 1914 in Cook Co., GA., she was the daughter of the late Fernie and Lomie Ray Welch. She was married to Wallace J. Collins who preceded her in death and then to Robert D. Stewart who survives. She was a member of Merriville Baptist Church. Other survivors include a daughter, Margaret C. Brown of Adel, GA., stepson, Morris Stewart of Ft.Walton, Fl., stepdaughter, Linda Spence of Atlanta, GA.; brother, Coy Welch of Adel; sister, Lorina Taylor of Lennox, GA.; grandchildren, Ricky L. Brown, Karen Brown Lassiter, Maggie Lea Lackey, Staff Sergeant Shawn Stewart, USMC, Tiffany Turner; great grandchildren, Tommy and Daniel Lassiter, Logan Lackey, Hunter Brown, Branden Sampson, Logan Turner, Kane Turner, Tayler Stewart and Palmer Stewart. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Howard Hardy Collins. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9PM on Wednesday.
