Leona Bullard, 95, died of heart failure on June 23, 2016 in Thomasville, Georgia. Born October 1, 1921, in Woodville, Mississippi, she is survived by 3 sisters, including Pearl Carter of Vicksburg, Mississippi; Nita (Cecil) Geter of Vicksburg, Mississippi; and Kathleen Pittman of Walker, Louisiana; 2 brothers, Edward (Kathleen) Walker of Woodville, Mississippi and Clarence Bill Walker of Brewton, Alabama. Children surviving include Benny & Tommy Bullard of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, & Bonnie Morgan of Thomasville, Georgia. Grandchildren & great-grandchildren include Kyle (Annabeth) Morgan of Denver, Colorado & daughter Jolie; Beth (Michael) Cowart of Crystal Springs, Mississippi, Nidia (Joe) Volpe & son Leo of Gainesville, Florida; Nieve Bullard of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Ashley, Mary & Jennifer Bullard of Star, Mississippi. She is preceded in death by brother, WB Walker, Jr; sisters, Eva Mae Vines and Earnestine Hunter and was immediately preceded in death by her oldest son, Bob Bullard of New Orleans, Louisiana. Leona graduated with an education degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. After raising her children, she worked for the Mississippi Department of Human Services in Greenwood, Mississippi where she was a member and regular attendee of First Baptist Church. She spent the last 10 years of her life with her daughter in Thomasville, Georgia, where Bonnie is the office manager for Archbold Nephrology Group. She is fondly remembered for her sweet spirit & Christian witness.
