Graveside services for Leslie James Cannady, Sr. of Thomasville are at 11:00AM on Friday, April 11, 2003 at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Milton C. Gardner and Rev. Dan Spencer will officiate. Mr. Cannady died April 8, 2003 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born November 30, 1926 in Thomasville he was the son of the late John Franklin Cannady, Sr. and Anne Leslie Cannady. On April 7, 1951 in Thomasville he married Joyce Hart Cannady who survives. Mr. Cannady served in the U. S. Army. He retired from Georgia Department of Labor after 34 years and was a member of First Baptist Church. Other survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Wanda Cannady and Ernest G. Stewart of Thomasville, sons and daughters-in-law, John F. Jack and Rebecca Parker Cannady of Thomasville, Leslie James, Jr. and Robin Hill Cannady of San Antonio, Tx.; grandchildren, Quinn Erin Cannady, Lindsay Alexander Cannady, Maxwell Hill Cannady of San Antonio, Tx., Kelly Joyce Cannady, Parker Ernest Stewart of Thomasville; brother, Robert B. Cannady and brother-in-law, Dr. Oscar Mims of Thomasville. He was preceded in death by brothers, John F. Cannady, Jr., George A. Cannady and sister, Edythe C. Mims. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 2790, Thomasville, GA. 31799 or to Archbold Foundation, Gordon Ave. at Mimosa Dr., Thomasville, GA 31792.
