Services for Lessie Tucker Pollock Bentley, 79, of Thomasville, are at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 1, 2009, at Pineland Baptist Church, where she was a member. The Rev. Johnny Cooper will officiate and interment is in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Bentley died Sept. 29 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born, Feb. 25, 1930, in Colquitt County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and America Barwick Tucker. In September of 1946, she married Josh Pollock, who preceded her in death in 1971. In September of 1977, she married Amos L. Bentley, who preceded her in death in 2003. Mrs. Bentley worked at Warner's for more than 35 years. She was a member of the WOM, Senior Sunday school class and Warner's Retiree Twenty Year Club. She loved her family and her church. She was a talented seamstress, avid gardener, enjoyed fishing and was everybody's favorite cook. Survivors include her children, Robert Pollock and wife, Peggy W. of Lake Blackshear, Debra Brooks and husband, Mike of Thomasville; step-children, Teresa B. Strickland and husband, Glenn of King George, Virginia, Don L. Bentley of Land O' Lakes, Fla., Candice Ciesla and husband, Art of Avon Park, Fla.; grandchildren, Josh Pollock and wife, Melissa, Cal Pollock and wife, Malinda, Robin Mills, Kevin Brooks and wife, Ashlee, Bryon Strickland, Todd Strickland, Kaylee Bentley, Ashlee Bentley and Koty Anderson; nine great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly; sisters, Urbie T. Parker of Thomasville, Geraldine T. Godwin of Thomasville; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Thurman Tucker, Preston Tucker, Oliver Tucker, Odell Key. Memorial contributions may be made to Pineland Baptist Church for the flower fund, 2031 East Clay Street, Thomasville, GA. 31792. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 – 8 p.m. Visitors may sign the online guest register at www.allenfh.com .
