A memorial service, celebrating the life of Lester Alvin Kim, 87, of Thomasville will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 16, 2008 at First Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Dr. Dan Spencer officiating. Mr. Kim died February 7, 2008 at his home after a long illness. Born September 10, 1920 in McKeesport, Pa, he was the son of the late Henry and Florence Kim. He was married to Doris Jean McGarvey Kim who preceded him in death in 2002. He graduated from Nyack Missionary College in Nyack, N.Y. He ministered 4 years in Indonesia, pastored churches in Western, Pa, Minneapolis, Minn and Seattle, Wash. He also was a very successful businessman with Best Lock Corp. His main desire in life was to serve his Lord, family and others. He loved people and "never met a stranger" and "everyone loved Lester". He is survived by his loving wife Faye Seymour Kim, of Thomasville, and combined loving family, son Ron Kim of Birmingham, Al, daughters, Pat Kim Rupinski of San Francisco, Ca, Beth Kim Baker of Birdsboro, Pa, Kathy Seymour Veltman of Thomasville, 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 3 great- great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Southwest Georgia, 818 Gordon Ave, Thomasville, Ga 31792 or First Baptist Church of Thomasville, P.O.
