Letha Kirkland Harrison

Graveside services for Letha Kirkland Harrison of Thomasville are at 4:00PM on Tuesday, August 22, 2006, at Laurel Hill Cemetery on 9th Street. The Rev. Dr. Milton C. Gardner and the Rev. Dr. Dan Spencer will officiate. Mrs. Harrison died at her home on Sunday, August 20. Born May 11, 1912 in Grady Co., GA she was the daughter of the Robert Alexander and Leila Gainous Kirkland. On June 11, 1933, in Thomasville, she married Thomas Barrow Harrison, Sr. who preceded her in death. Mrs. Harrison was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and had previously been a volunteer with John D Archbold Memorial Hospital, a member of Briarcliff Garden Club, and a member of the Women?s Golf Association at Glen Arven Country Club. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and William Clinebell of Apopka, FL, Alice and William Dickey of Thomasville, son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Brona Harrison of Thomasville; grandchildren, Kirkland Dickey, David Dickey, Angela Harrison, J. T. and Heather Harrison; sisters-in-law Esther Carter of Cairo, Gerta Shiver of Maryville, Tennessee, faithful caregivers, Glenda Wilcox and Jackie Hotzclaw of Thomasville and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Lynn B. Kirkland and sister, Marguerite Yandle. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 2790, Thomasville, GA 31799 or to John D.
