Letha Bell (Brock) Golden, 91 of Thomasville peacefully passed away at her residence on May 15, 2024. She was born on August 27, 1932, in Cairo to the late John and Ruth Hancock Brock who now precedes her in death.
Letha married the love of her life, the late Willie Green Golden on December 23, 1950, in Thomas County and shared 50 years of marriage before his passing. In her earlier years, Letha worked for Coats & Clark and later retired from Warner’s Inc. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was an active member of Fredonia Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters Mary Lois Shuman of Hazlehurst and Frances Arlene Smith (Danny) of Boston; sons Charles Albert Golden (Glenda) of Thomasville and Willie Glenn Golden (Sheryl) of Thomasville; sister Ruby Kelley of Bainbridge and brother Lamar Brock of Newton, followed by 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her son-in-law Herman Shuman and brother J.W. Brock.
A service to celebrate the life of Letha Golden will be held on Saturday, May 18th at 12 pm at Fredonia Baptist Church with Judson Maxwell officiating. A visitation will be held from 11-12 pm prior to the service. Interment will follow a Fredonia Church Cemetery.
