Lewis William Haralson, age 77. Passed away at Archbold Hospital on June 3, 2019. Lewis was the son of the late Willie George Haralson and Mary Lee Thornton. Lewis graduated from Thomasville High School in 1960 and worked at Georgia Crate & Basket Company for over 50 years. He was of the Methodist faith.
Lewis loved racing of most any kind. Some of his favorite memories were working in the pits at Patten Speedway on Saturday nights and then working on the car at various racers' homes throughout the week (Larry Benton, Billy Joe Boyette, Herschel Finch). He loved attending NASCAR events and going to local tracks with his daughter, Deneen. He loved attending CB jamborees when they were popular. His handle was "ROHO". He had CB radios in the truck, car and house so he was always connected with the outside world. He was a member of the Elks Club. He had a passion for hunting and fishing with the results of it showing on the walls in his home. He spent many an early cold morning communing with nature waiting on that buck or doe to walk out or warm afternoons waiting on a fish to bite. He loved fishing off of St George Island Bridge at night for Sailcat. He was skilled in many trades and would build custom bedroom suits for his daughter when she was young. If his wife, Pat, could dream up the concept of anything needed at home, he could build it or adapt it. In later years, he had a lot of fun attending weekly bingo games. He attended Fairview Methodist Church for most of his life until it closed. He loved attending gospel sings and bluegrass concerts. He was a big fan of the traditional country music but would sometimes sneak in some 60's classic rock to keep his playlist interesting.
He was married to his wife of 58 years, Patricia Ann Fielding who survives. They had one daughter, Deneen Haralson Wilson (Phillip). Grandson: Christopher Harrell (Janel). Step-Grandsons: Brandon Wilson (Christine), Aaron Wilson (Sierra) and Joseph Wilson. Honorary Grandson: Andy Baugh. Great Grandchildren: Josh Starling, Charlotte Harrell, Ava Wilson, Cayman Wilson & Lucas Senseney. Sister: Linda Phillips (Paul). Beloved Pet: Max.
