Lewis Van Hudson Sr.

On Wednesday, February 7th, 2018 Lewis Van Hudson Sr., 89, passed from this life to the eternal. He was born in Pavo Georgia, May 8th 1928. Lewis was a self-made man from humble beginnings & little formal education. Lewis went on to own and operate H & H Roofing with his partner, Charles Hughes (predeceased) for 32 years before retiring. He enjoyed fishing & boating on the St. John River and loved the game of golf. He played a variety of courses around the United States & was long time member of Riviera Country Club. He would go on have 5 hole in ones in his lifetime. He was charming, witty, & never met a stranger. As a member of First Baptist Church in Daytona Beach, he was baptized the same day he accepted the Lord. He leaves behind his loving wife of 25 years, Laticia; daughters, Bonnie Chase (Steve), Lou Ann Chickering (Jeff), Suzanne Vallance (Glenn), Laticia’s son, Jess Blount (Jan), grandchildren Jason Chase (Linda), Jessica Chase, Emily Chickering, Allison Chickering, Brittany Claud (TJ), Johnny Blount, Jesse Blount; great grandchildren, Hunter Chase, Logan Chase, Jasper Chase, Cody Billington, & James Claud. Graveside service will be held at the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Pavo, Ga., 12:00PM, Saturday, February 10, 2018. A memorial service will held March 3rd at the Dale Woodward Funeral Home 167 Ridgewood Ave., Holly Hill, Florida.
