Gale Copeland, beloved wife, daughter, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away on December 18, 2023, at the age of 76 at her residence. Gale was born on August 18, 1947, in Thomasville, GA, to the late Albert and Sara Tryan.
Gale led a fulfilling life dedicated to education and serving her community. She graduated with a Master's Degree and pursued her passion for teaching in the Thomas County School System for over 20 years. Her enthusiasm, dedication, and kindness touched the lives of countless students and colleagues throughout her career.
Outside of her professional life, Gale was an active member of Dawson Street Baptist Church, where she shared her love for teaching by instructing GA's for many years.
Gale treasured her family beyond measure. She is survived by her loving husband, Charlie Copeland; sons, Jeffrey Copeland of San Antonio, TX, and Jonathan Copeland (Michelle) of Temple, GA, were the pride and joy of her life. She will forever hold a special place in the hearts of her grandchildren, Nathan Copeland and Matthew Copeland, who brought immeasurable happiness to her life.
Gale will be missed by her sister, Twila Tryan, of Atlanta, GA, and brother, Al Tryan (Debra), of Thomasville, GA. Gale was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Julie Copeland, and her sister, Judy Tryan.
Per her wishes, a private graveside service was held on Friday, December 22, 2023 in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
