Services for Linda S. Rollins of Ochlocknee will be held at the Boston Baptist
Church at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 27,2023. Due to extreme heat, the family will have a private internment following the funeral.
Linda Dianne Strickland Rollins died Tuesday, August 22,2023, after a brief illness at Archbold hospital in Thomasville. Linda was born January 28, 1944 in Douglas, Georgia, the first child of Glenn Max Strickland, Sr. and Mary Hester Shannon Strickland. She was the granddaughter of Harvey & Mabel F. Strickland and S. B. & Hattie T. Shannon. She and her family moved to Boston, Georgia in 1950, and she held many happy memories of having grown up there. She graduated from Thomas County Central High School in 1962 and went on to attend South Georgia College in Douglas, graduating in 1964. Linda met and married James Allen Rollins on December 17, 1983, who survives her. She was a long- time employee of Commercial Bank (later Synovus) of Thomasville, and she was a member of the Ochlocknee Baptist Church. Linda requested that she be remembered as a Christian.
Linda is survived by her husband, Allen, of Quitman, GA; step-children, James R. Rollins and wife Laura & children Joshua & Grace of Fredericksburg, VA and Lori R. Philbin & husband Dave of Boston, MA & children Grey, Chance, and Nash; sisters Carol S. West of Meigs, Anne S. Wahl of Merrillville, brothers Glenn M. Strickland, Jr. and wife Teresa of King George, VA, Timothy S. Strickland and
wife Marli of Tallahassee, FL, and Mark A. Strickland of Morgan, Georgia; and
numerous nieces and nephews; and several cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to Vashti Center, 1815 E. Clay Street, Thomasville, GA, or to your favorite charity.
