Lois Revells Smith
Mrs Smith died Monday at The Suites of Woodleaf in Thomasville.
She was born June 2, 1926, in Cedar Springs, GA to James and Eliza Revells of Jakin, GA. She grew up on the family farm in Jakin, one of nine children. During the 1940s she moved to Thomasville, GA, taking a job with Watkins Motor Lines. In 1956 she married Robert (Bob) Eugene Smith, a blessed union that lasted until Bob's death in 2004. Lois retired from Watkins and worked part-time for Scott Construction for a few years. When not working, Lois and Bob made regular camping trips to north Georgia and the Smokey Mountains, fishing for trout and visiting family along the way. Upon Bob's retirement from South Georgia Natural Gas, he and Lois got serious about travel. They drove their motor home through 49 U.S. states, as well as Canada and Mexico. Another of their passions was gardening with their neighbors on Brookwood Drive in Thomasville. Lois' canning and coconut cake-baking skills were admired by many friends. After Bob's death Lois spent her years walking with her Brookwood buddies, vacationing at the Gulf, visiting family, supporting her church, and generally being a kind spirit to all that knew her. She was preceded in death by beloved husband Bob, her parents, siblings James, Ruth, Joseph, Ernest, Easter, Grady, Hilda, and Eddie. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many grieving Thomasville friends.
