Louis Lavon Hatcher, 68, of Thomasville passed away July 25, 2019. Born December 28, 1950, he was the son of the late Louis Clayton Hatcher Jr. and Evelyn Foye Reagan Hatcher. Mr. Hatcher served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He loved to plant and grow all different kinds of tomatoes and peppers, often sharing them with family and friends. He loved to keep up with his favorite football teams as well. His greatest joy was working at Hatcher’s Seafood, a family business created by his dad, for most his life. Serving people in this community was what he looked forward to every day. He is survived by his son, Jeff Hatcher (Leeann); grandchildren Kennedy, Reese, and Logan; siblings Robert Hatcher (Robyn) of Thomasville, GA, Helen Hatcher Black of Pineville, NC, and Debbie Hatcher Crump (Sam) of Metcalfe, GA; nephews Clay Crump (Samantha) of Alpharetta, GA and Evan Rosenbaum (Sam) of DelRay Beach, FL; niece Dana Rosenbaum McSwain (Mike) of Matthews, NC; and the love of his life for 16 years, Nellie Tilley. Mr. Hatcher was preceded in death by his parents and his niece Callie Renee Crump.
