Louis Sellers

Services for Mr. Louis Ralph Sellers, 87, will be Saturday May 15, 2021 at 2:00PM at Allen and Allen Celebration of Life Chapel. Private interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Sellers passed away May 13, 2021. He was born in Cottonwood, Alabama on September 15, 1933 to Mura Bo ("MB") and Armindy McCoy Sellers. After graduating Cottonwood High school, Louis joined the United States Navy where he served for seven years. During his deployment, Louis was able to travel the world twice over and see all the wonders it had to offer. After his time in the Navy, Mr. Sellers returned to Savannah, GA and worked at Globe Shoe Company where he met the love of his life, Helen Marjorie Prouse. The couple was married for 56 years before her passing in 2018. Throughout his life, Mr. Sellers owned and operated several shoe stores in South Georgia and North Florida until his retirement in 2018. Louis was an active member of Dawson Street Baptist Church; teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir and a member of many committees. Mr. Sellers was also a member of the Gideons for over thirty years. In his free time, Louis enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams; The University of Alabama and The Atlanta Braves, working in his yard, and visiting with his neighbors. Louis never met a stranger. He is survived by his daughter Denise Smith (Vann) and the light of his life (granddaughter) Natalie. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Dawson Street Baptist Church at 1025 N.
