Louise Johns, 58, of Thomasville, GA, passed away on September 17, 2024. She was born on October 1, 1965, in Lakeland, FL to George Marvin Johns and Claudia Andress Johns.
Louise graduated from Sebring High School in 1983. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Central Florida in 1988. In 2009, she earned a Masters of Science in Nursing Administration from Thomas University.
Professionally, Louise worked in the medical field for 36 years. She began her career as an ER nurse at Orlando Regional Medical Center. She then became a travel nurse for numerous years; highlights include Hawaii & Norwegian Cruise Lines, Single Day Surgery in Tallahassee, Lithotripsy mobile unit, Thomasville Eye Center, where she worked as an Administrator for 20 years, and Archbold Hospital as the Director of Quality Improvement and Patient Safety. In May of 2023, she landed her dream job as a Clinical Surveyor for DNV Healthcare where she traveled nationally. Outside of work, Louise enjoyed traveling across the United States and abroad. She also enjoyed seeing Broadway shows, watching football, and spending time with family.
Survivors include her sons, Jarrett Michael Barwick of Charleston, SC and Christopher Hayes Barwick of Thomasville, GA; brother, Richard Marvin Johns (Amanda) of Wills Point, TX; cousin, Tracey Thompson (TJ) of Tallahassee, FL; parents, George Marvins Johns and Claudia Andress Johns of Thomasville, GA, followed by numerous nieces and nephews.
A service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 12 pm at the First Baptist Church Sanctuary with a visitation from 11 am-12 pm prior to the service.
