Reverand Louise H. Muenz of Thomasville died peacefully on November 16th, 2018. She was 97. She was born in Washington DC where she went to schools and college. Her parents were John and Reba Hawes. She was an Eastern Star, a D.A.R. and First Families of VA-through her ancestor William Beckwith who came to Jamestown with Capt. John Smith in February of 1608. She held a Master of Religious Education and worked as Director of Christian Education in five churches over fifty years. In 1942 she joined the WACs and served in the army until the end of World War II. In 1974 she was ordained a minister in the Episcopal Church and was the second woman ever ordained in her diocese. She was married for fifty years to Robert OJ Muenz, Sr who died in August 1993. She was predeceased by her son Tibor, and is survived by her sons Robert Jr, his wife Beverly, Richard and his wife Kathy, Tibor’s wife Dorothy, grandchildren Heather, Megan, Olivia, David and Paul; 8 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. A memorial service will be held Friday, December 21st at 11 AM at All Saints Episcopal Church, Thomasville Georgia. Family and friends are invited to visit her online guest register at
