Graveside services for Louise Carr Nicholson, 88, of Thomasville will be held at 3:00pm, Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor James Miller and Gregg Carr Sr. will be officiating with Jeff Willis providing the music. A viewing will be held Wednesday, March 3, 2021 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, at Allen & Allen Funeral Home. Louise was born in Tampa, Florida on August 6, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Ralph & Eunice Carr. Early in her life her family moved to Thomas County where they settled in Merrillville, Ga. In 1949 she graduated from Coolidge High School. During her years in high school, she served as class president, class secretary, class vice-president and editor of the school newspaper. Louise was also valedictorian of her senior class. She also was a member of the high school girl's basketball team. After graduation, she enrolled in Massey Business School in Jacksonville, Florida. After finishing her course, she returned to Merrillville where she worked for four years at Coolidge Bank. On October 22, 1950, she married James Willard Nicholson and they resided in Thomasville. Louise worked as a bookkeeper in the accounting profession for forty-nine years, retiring in 2003 from Fletcher & Associates. Her hobbies included reading and arts & crafts. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Nicholson and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph & Eunice Carr; husband, James W. Nicholson; her siblings, Walter (Melba) Carr, Leon (Gladys) Carr and Mary (Edgar) Gunn.
